Cooper Blake has everything going for him--until he wakes up from a car accident with his football career in ruins and a mysterious attractive girl by his side. Cooper doesn't know how Samantha got there or why he can see her; all he knows is that she's a ghost, and the shadows that surround her seem intent on destroying her.

No one from Cooper's old life would understand what he can barely grasp himself . . . But Delilah, the captain of the cheerleading squad, has secrets of her own, like her ability to see beyond the physical world, and her tangled history with Brent, a loner from a neighboring school who can her strangers' most intimate thoughts. Delilah and Brent know that Cooper is in more trouble than he realizes, and that Samantha may not be as innocent as she has lead Cooper to believe. But the only way to figure out where Samantha came from will put them all in more danger than they ever dreamed possible.

I loved this book. A lot.

I have read a lot of books by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes and I especially like Hawksong, Snakecharm, Shattered Mirror, Demon in my View, and some others. However I have to admit to not really liking the later books in the Kiesha'ra series. My favorite characters are not really even  in them anymore so I did not feel that I had much reason to read them. What I did not realize was that she was writing more books so I have a bunch of one of my favorite writers to catch up on.

This book really reminded me of that. There are tons of reasons that I really liked this story.

The characters. Samantha. I really liked how when you finally thought you had it pinned down on who she was and what happened to her it gets ripped out from under you. That and how interconnected everything was. You really had to pay attention to what was happening in the book in order to see it but it was really amazing. I don't care what other people say but I thought that the side love story was cute. It may not have been the main feature but it was still as cute as two five year olds kissing. That's the age it's cute at, right? Or is it three? Just read it.
