Jenny Morton is a quiet small-town girl from South Carolina whose touch spreads a deadly supernatural plague--she can't touch anyone for long without killing them. Jenny can't control her power, so it controls her life. The kids at school call her "Jenny Mittens" because she wears gloves year-round, even in the broiling Carolina summer. Occasionally, she makes a mistake and spreads disease and death. She struggles to keep her fatal touch a secret from everyone. Her life is friendless and lonely until she meets Seth, a boy with a healing touch. Seth is the only boy Jenny can touch, but Jenny's affection for him brings the wrath of his devious, manipulative girlfriend Ashleigh, who secretly wields the most dangerous power of all--the power to make people feel love. Jenny must master her own power--the deadly "Jenny pox"--before Ashleigh can destroy her.

I loved this book. It was awesome.. no...there is no word for how much I loved this book. I almost decided to skip that silly thing called sleep just to keep reading. Let's start in on the characters.

Favorite was Jenny. I admit the fact that she was not a complete sociopath like Ashleigh really helped. She is awkward in the beginning but I feel that she really does grow into herself. I loved how it shows us when they are young and why Jenny and Ashleigh do not get along. I am almost speechless because of how much I liked this book. Another character I liked was Seth because of how dynamic he turned out to be. Actually now that I think about it, I liked all of the characters in one way or another. although it was not always because how amazing I thought they were. Ashleigh was evil. No other word for it. But she had layers and reasons for doing the things that she did. The reasons won't always make sense to the people who are all there but she used her own logic to come to them. There are times within the book where I would have really liked for Jenny to just walk up to Ashleigh and give her a great big hug but I knew that he would never give us such an abrupt yet satisfying ending. Although now that I have read the whole thing I love Jenny Pox was wrapped up.

I have only one problem with the book. There are some typos within the beginning and a couple in the middle. They are not big but you can still find them. Most of them are in the word structure but it is relatively easy to figure out what was meant to be written.

  1. I've heard such awesome things about this book! I like the premise. The idea of not being able to touch people without hurting them is heartbreaking.

  2. This is a really good book. You get a really in depth look on all of the characters. Also J. L. Bryan's says that the sequel should be out by the end of the summer of 2011. That is this year!
